WE DID IT!

It is with immense pride and joy that we can now announce Bex and Amy are proud members of the UK Association
of Professional Piercers.

UKAPP is an organisation dedicated to spreading knowledge of safe piercing practices and up to date education for
both industry professionals and the public. They offer piercers the chance to become members by upholding the
highest standards in their working environments. This is absolutely what we are about at Pictures of Lily and to have
it officiated is amazing!

You might be surprised that there is no governmental regulatory body for the piercing industry, which is why any
cheap jewellery store can pierce with guns and anyone with a bank card can buy a tattoo machine online. You
wouldn’t let anyone off the street carry out a dental procedure; it’s just as crazy that unqualified people looking to
make quick cash are allowed to carry out permanent changes to people’s bodies. Being UKAPP certified provides
assurance to our customer’s that we care about the quality of our work and the safety of our clients.
Becoming a member is not easy. Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety requires a lot of
equipment, maintenance and knowledge to meet membership requirements. (Stricter than anything the council
require, let me tell you!)

We’ve been working towards this goal since attending a piercing conference back in 2017. We’ve made so many
changes to how we pierce, aiming to provide a service using the best jewellery, up-to-date techniques and striving to
give you the best experience possible.

There are currently only 23 studios in the UK with membership and we are proud to say Pictures of Lily in
Biggleswade is one of them! We’ve worked SO hard for this, it’s paid off and it couldn’t have come at a better time!
